Minimum pupillage awards throughout England and Wales will enhance next month as a part of an annual uplift pegged in opposition to suggestions set out by the Residing Wage Basis (LWF).

From January 2022, barrister units in London may have to pay pupils a minimum of £19,144 in London and £17,152 elsewhere. The transfer equates to an additional £184 and £551, respectively, with 2021 charges set at £18,960 and £16,601.

The yearly rises have been first launched in 2019 and are pegged in opposition to salaries endorsed by the LWF, an unbiased organisation that promotes truthful pay throughout the UK. Prior to the roll-out, the minimal chambers may pay their pupils was £12,000.
